Once you find yourself drawn into relationship with the mineral kingdom, it introduces you to the worlds of chemistry, physics, sacred geometry, electromagnetism, optics, and astronomy.

It is amazing at how a little tumbled stone can invite you to participate in the deepest understanding of the collaborative nature of life on Earth. And then, to lead you beyond the confines of Earth to communicate with the Celestial Beings of Light who care for and love all those residing on this planet. And yes, this is what has happened to me. I love the companionship of the minerals supporting my evolutionary development. And I love supporting the evolutionary development of the mineral kingdom. I have put together a list of the books that were most helpful to me, and also some lovely resources, to assist you in developing your own relationship with the stones in your life. Rock on!

the-healing-crystal-first-aid-manualIf you want to learn how stone healing works, Michael Geinger’s, Crystal Power, Crystal Healing: The Complete Handbook, literally spells it out. His describes how the crystalline systems combine with the chemical composition of minerals to provide balance, rejuvenation, and healing. Mr. Geinger has also written The Healing Crystal First Aid Manual: A practical A to Z of common ailments and illnesses and how they can best be treated with crystal therapy. What’s nice about this book is that he tells you not only what crystal to use for specific physical problems, but how to use it on or around the body.

john-sinkankas-mineralogy

For those who choose to grasp the science behind this healing modality, John Sinkankas book, Mineralogy, is literally a geology textbook for non-scientists. By understanding the elemental nature of minerals, the dynamism of their formation, and the electromagnetic flow within them, crystal therapies become even more fascinating.

theelements-theodoregrayFor a fascinating understanding of the periodic table of the elements, The Elements: A Visual Exploration of Every Known Atom in the Universe by Theodore Gray, literally shows you what each element on the periodic table looks like. He then describes how the element is used in western civilization. Because stone healing is based on this elemental nature of the mineral kingdom, this is a fundamental resource. Mr. Gray clearly explains how atomic bonding occurs in the formation of minerals so that the non-scientist can comprehend this amazing activity on the Earth.

the-secret-language-of-colorCritical to the use of stones in healing modalities is the understanding and use of color. The Secret Language of Color: Science, Nature, History, Culture, Beauty of Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Violet by Joann and Arielle Eckstut is a powerful and comprehensive guide to how color works. The Eckstut sisters thoroughly address the way the human eye comprehends color in our world and how color has shaped our world throughout history. Their chapters on our colorful universe and the planet is extremely helpful in utilizing crystalline frequencies in transformational therapies.

love-is-in-the-earth-a-kaleidoscope-of-crystals
The bible of crystal healing is still Love is in the Earth: A Kaleidoscope of Crystals by Melody. She has so many minerals listed that are not found anywhere else. It’s the first book I go to when researching a mineral. However, there are no pictures in this volume. For photos, she subsequently published multiple mineralogical pictorial books.

stones-of-new-consciousnessbook-of-stonesNewer on the crystal healing scene is Robert Simmons and his contributions are significant to the growing emergence of crystal therapies. In conjunction with Naisha Ahsian, he wrote The Book of Stones: Who They Are and What They Teach.   This book, not only correlates the stones with the elements and chakras, it defines the effect that each stone has on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies so that you can utilize the stone appropriately for significant results. His latest work, Stones of the New Consciousness: Healing, Awakening, and Co-creating with Crystals, Minerals, and Gems, takes the reader on an adventure conversing with sixty-two stones particularly helpful in humanity’s evolution. The opening chapters offer interesting information relating to the consciousness of the mineral kingdom.

complete-crystal-handbook
For a spin on divination and collaboration with the plant kingdom, Cassandra Eason’s The Complete Crystal Handbook: Your Guide to More than 500 Crystals, is an excellent reference. She offers multi-faceted information on each crystal correlating it with color and fragrances, noting its magical significance, and providing unique and interesting work and home applications. Additionally, the book is laid out by color so that you don’t have to know the exact name of a stone, if you are aware if its primary color.
gem-elixirs-vibrational-healing-2

windows-of-lightcrystal-personalitiesBecause of the depth and breadth of the contributions that quartz makes to life on Earth, research is required. In Windows of Light: Quartz Crystals and Self-Transformation, Randall N. and Vicki V. Baer describe the bridge that quartz crystals create between the energy networks of the Universe that infuse and transform life on Earth. They offer instructions on how to effective apply these crystalline frequencies for healing, transformation, and multi-dimensional communication. In studying clear quartz, it becomes evident that the formation of the crystal point that you hold in your hand is significant and useful. The faces of the point, the markings on the side, the cluster of points it contains, the ridges and gauges that are evident in the body of the quartz are all critical to understanding how to best use that particular specimen. Patricia Troyer in Crystal Personalities: A Quick Reference to Special Forms of Quartz provides the best information that I have read regarding the various configurations of quartz crystals. This guide is concise and the images are clear. It is easy to take your piece of quartz and compare it to the picture on the page to determine its purpose and application.

crystal-energy-mary-lambert

Collecting stones for crystal therapies is a wonderful activity and an expensive one. In Crystal Energy: 150 ways to bring success, love, health, and harmony into your life, Mary Lambert describes a stone perfect for a particular application, then gives you options with other minerals if that particular crystal does not yet reside in your collection.

For a gem treat, Gemisphere Luminary by Michael Katz is a journey into the world of the gemstone guardians who oversee the function of thirty gems on the Earth. This book is a gift from the mineral kingdom that will draw you deeply into stone consciousness.

jewels-of-the-lotus

My favorite gemstone card deck is the Jewels of the Lotus: Tibetan Gemstone Oracle by Dawn Silver and Pat Gullett. Not only do they include valuable information about the stones effectiveness regarding human anatomy and nutrition, they also discuss the meaning of the stone in regards to the type of stone reading you choose to engage. Multiple layouts are presented to address particular concerns and life transitions.

I do hope that you will find these references as useful as I have. I encourage you to research your stones and discover their origins. Every time I do, I can’t help but embrace the wonder of geology and welcome more stones into my life and my home.
